Chief Imagination Officer
Steve is the Chief Imagination Officer of the STEAM based NGO, Living Maths. He teaches a few thousand students weekly around the world. He feels that it is his destiny to spread the joy of mathematics, science, space, engineering, edtech, numbers, problem solving and creative thinking to anyone who is willing to listen and even to those who are not. He is a 2020 recipient of the Global Teacher Award, 2 x Tedx speaker, Kahoot Ambassador and verified educator, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, A Space Foundation International Teacher Liaison, recipient of the World Space Week Award 2024 for STEM and Science Educators for Climate Education, Head of PR for ASTEMISA, the outreach officer for the annual Humans to the Moon and Mars Summit, Coordinator of one of the South Africa’s largest maths Olympiads, Convenor of the Irish Kangaroo Maths Competition and chief organiser of the annual Living Maths Space Tour. Steve was featured on the Dec 2006 cover of Time Magazine, he knows Karate, Ju-jitsu and 2 other Japanese words, he has a black belt in buffet and partial arts and he currently holds the national record for the low jump.
